Why Green Energy?

image01A renewable energy power system, whether it is solar power (PV), wind power, or micro hydro, is more economical than ever, especially in the current deregulated energy market. The new Micro Generation Regulation in Alberta helps as a first small step in this new and exciting industry. See the Alberta Utility Commissions for more information.

In Alberta, at current conditions, grid-connected systems can pay for themselves within 10-30 years.

With more public pressure, we can push our leaders in the right direction to implement the policies that we are seeing all over the world and in other parts of Canada to further support and promote this industry and decrease dramatically the amount of time it takes for a system to pay for itself.

In many European countries, as well as Asia, Ontario, and now the United States (thanks to the big push for Feed-In-Tariffs) pay-off periods have decreased dramatically, often to within five to ten years. Many individuals are using the money they make from the export and sale of electricity to help them achieve the financial freedom needed to retire.

It is our hope that through education, participation and innovation, we can create a sustainable world for our families and the environment.

Energy for the Future

The following is a quote from the David Suzuki Foundation

“The popularity of renewable energy is exploding as millions of people around the world use clean energy to generate electricity, to heat and cool all kinds of buildings, and to produce a variety of cleaner fuels.

Wind and solar are the fastest growing source of energy in the world. These low-polluting energy industries are also creating hundreds of thousands of new jobs in countries as diverse as Germany and China.

Canada, the second largest country in the world, is richly endowed with renewable energy (wind, solar, hydro, biomass, geothermal, and marine sources). If the right policies are implemented, Canada can use renewable energy to satisfy our energy needs and become a world leader in sustainable technologies."
